CORVAIR DIFFERENTIAL

Are you putting a lot of horse power through your Corvair differential? A girdled, shoulder-bolted top-cover is now available for Corvair differentials used in either stock or extreme applications i.e. Crown or Kelmark conversions. Made of 1/4" steel plate, this cover is C&C cut and machined and has a pipe threaded breather hole in the factory position with an oil deflector built in, unlike other differential covers where the breather hole is over the ring gear with no deflector so that the gear oil has a tendency to eject out of the breather hole. Dissimilar metals expand, flex and contract at different rates i.e. an aluminum top cover on a stock differential defects at a greater rate than the steel differential itself allowing for a detrimental amount of movement. It is deflection that is one of the major contributors to the Corvair's differential failure. With two opposing bolts over the yokes shouldered the differential cover becomes the girdle. The side loads in a Corvair differential are incredible which creates deflection, the stock tin cover does absolutely nothing to add strength to the case. Send me your differential case and for $50.00 plus shipping and handling, I'll shoulder bolt your case with a machined steel cover which will tremendously aid in the longevity of your Corvair differential.
